The Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) is a world-renowned trek that loops around the Mont Blanc massif, traversing France, Italy, and Switzerland. Spanning approximately 165 kilometers (103 miles) with around 10,000 meters (32,800 feet) of cumulative ascent and descent, it presents a significant physical endeavour.

Daily stages typically involve 6 to 8 hours of hiking, with elevation gains and losses averaging between 800 to 1,200 meters (2,600 to 3,900 feet). The terrain varies from gentle valley paths to steep, rocky ascents and descents, demanding a good level of fitness and stamina.

However, the TMB is not a technical climb; it doesn’t require mountaineering skills or equipment. Many hikers, including those new to multi-day treks, successfully complete it each year. The key lies in adequate preparation and choosing the right support system.

At Life Happens Outdoors (LHO), we specialise in making the Tour du Mont Blanc hike accessible and enjoyable. Our approach includes:

  • Curated Itinerary: We’ve designed our route to highlight the most scenic and rewarding sections of the TMB trail, skipping parts that may not add significant value to your experience.
  • Comfortable Accommodations: Our trek combines stays in cozy mountain huts and comfortable hotels, offering a balance between rustic charm and modern amenities.
  • Baggage Transfers: We handle the logistics of moving your luggage between accommodations, so you can enjoy the mont blanc hike with just a daypack.
  • Expert Support: Our experienced guides and support team are with you every step of the way, ensuring safety, sharing insights, and enhancing your overall experience.

Embarking on the TMB hike is a rewarding adventure that offers breathtaking alpine scenery, cultural richness, and personal achievement. With LHO’s thoughtful planning and support, you’re well-equipped to take on this unforgettable journey.
